Sarah Reuben – Co-creator

Sarah Reuben is a Darwin-based independent theatremaker, performer and producer. She graduated from the School for Creative and Performing Arts, Ohio and while in the states was a member of the Berkshire Theatre Festival Apprentice Company and performed in Pippin, Wind in the Willows, Willey and the Hairy Man, Say Something and The Book of Five Rings. In Australia, Reuben has performed in a national tour of The Hurting Game for Brainstorm Productions, The Musicians for ATYP, The Laramie Project for Black Swan State Theatre Company and How I Learned to Drive for Mockingbird Theatre Company. For her own Theatre Company, Ruby Gaytime Productions, she wrote four theatre shows: Best, Short Change, Death Party and This Jew Sits. And most recently, Sarah devised and performed in Lower The Bar for Sarah & Kyle Productions. Her improvisation credits include The Big HOO HAA!, Gladiators, Danger Hour, Cliffhanger and Impro Sketch. 

Sarah is a story producer for SPUN, co-creator and performer with the nationally touring show Shania Choir, and is currently funded to write a new webseries for Ruby Gaytime Productions, Unchartered Territory. In 2020 Sarah Reuben and Jeffrey Jay Fowler were awarded the NT Literary Award for their new play, When The Clock Strikes Two.

Jeffrey Jay Fowler – Co-creator
Jeffrey Jay Fowler is a playwright, dramaturg, director and actor. He wrote and acted in award winning shows A HISTORY OF DRINKING and ELEPHENTS (2014 PAWA Award for Best New Play). He has performed in and co-created FAG/STAG (winner Scotsman Fringe First 2017), BALI, THE ADVISORS, ALL THAT GLITTERS and LÉ NØR [THE RAIN] with The Last Great Hunt, of which he is a core artist.

His other plays include MINNIE & MONA PLAY DEAD (Martin Sims Award 2013), PRICE TAG, THE ONE (Blaz Award for Best New Writing 2017), SECOND HANDS, IMPROVEMENT CLUB and HOPE IS THE SADDEST. Among the shows he has directed are THE EISTEDDFOD (2017 PAWA Best Director and Best Mainstage Play), GIRL SHUT YOUR MOUTH, BLITHE SPIRIT, and THE VIBRATOR PLAY for Black Swan State Theatre Company.

Jeffrey Jay was Associate Director of Black Swan from 2014 to 2017, and then he was Director of New Writing for 2018 and 19. His postgraduate studies were in directing at NIDA in 2010.

Max Juniper – Sound Designer
Max Juniper is a graduate of the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts, acquiring an undergraduate degree with honours in Composition and Music Technology. Having written his thesis on binaural spatialisation (3D audio for headphones), Max has a keen interest in the interaction between music and spaces, both physical and social. This highly technical and somewhat esoteric aspect is counter balanced by a deep love of traditional choral composition, fostered by over a decade of choir singing. Since graduating in 2017, Max has worked with writers and directors to adapt lyrics to new melodies or compose original songs, and has coached actors in singing these works. His song writing supports a broader sound design practice, having designed for Riptide Youth Performance Company’s Tide Tales, WA Youth Theatre’s Cloud Nine, Hayman Theatre’s In Case Of Emergency and The Last Great Hunt’s Perpetual Wake and Bad Baby Jean.
